Sound System

The Pedal Power Generator is most commonly used to power a sound system for a portable band that can play anywhere. With it´s 65 Watts out put, it can be used to power small appliances, a laptop, TV, radio, and low power lighting.

Power Consumption of Typical Applications:
200 Watt sound system...............0ne 65 watt generator

1000 Watt sound system.............Four 65 Watt generators

Using the Pedal Power Generator to power a sound system may require one to four bikes (or more).

We offer several products that can help make this possible.

First is the generator that mounts easily on an Xtracycle FreeRadical frame. It comes with the complete package of a regulator, indicator, and center stand. This generator outputs 13 to 15 Volts DC at 35 to 65 Watts and has the capability of maintaining the voltage for a minute or so while you switch peddlers on the bike. One bike is enough to power a 200 watt sound system or a single laptop. Anything more will require more bikes. The bikes are combined with a junction box, that has a built-in projection circuit that prevents the bikes from cross over. For our larger sound system, we use a highly efficient amplifier that operates on 120Volts AC. The four bike junction box is connected to a reliable Xantrax inverter. From this inverter we power the amplifiers, the mixer, and other equipment to run the show.
