A 1000 Watt sound system like this that uses four bikes, or more, should be used for a full five piece band, playing to 300 people outside. Four or more bikes power the amplifiers, mixer board, pedal boards, and recording equipment.
This is the system we used with much success on the Pleasant Revolution. We traveled with this entire system and our personal gear 5000 miles across Mexico. My favorite performance was when we pedaled our bikes up to a beach bonfire in the middle of the night. We set up on the spot and performed for the crowd of people around the bonfire. This shows the power of spontaneous and remote performance, with a pedal power stage.
Generally on the tour we were able to have
enough power with 2 or 3 bikes, the others were used as back ups. But this
was only when the venue was very small.
